SignToSee is for freelancers, consultants, designers and small agencies who send proposals, pitch decks and concepts to clients, and want them to arrive looking professional and to know when they have been opened.

Instead of pasting a bare link or attaching a file, you share a SignToSee link with your name and, if you like, a personal note. Your recipient confirms their email address with a one-time code and opens it; you see who opened it and when. When a piece of work needs it, you add an NDA they accept before viewing. Each person's first open is recorded with a timestamp, the verified email address, the IP address and a hash-linked, tamper-evident log; later opens are counted on the link page.

2. Setting Up an NDA (Optional)

A link needs no agreement: by default your recipient confirms their email and opens it. If the work calls for an NDA (included from the Sign plan), upload it as a file rather than sharing a link to it: agreements are only offered on uploaded files, so the record fingerprints exactly what they accepted and opened. Set up a template first with the Agreement templates button on your dashboard.

You can either use a standard boilerplate template provided by SignToSee, or toggle "Use Custom NDA Text" to paste your own legal contract entirely. To set up a standard template, fill out the following fields:

Open Agreement templates. It is a button on your dashboard. Start your first template from there.Agreements are included from the Sign plan. The screens and their wording are the product's own.
Template Name

A name for your own overview (e.g. "Client work NDA").

Content Category

What kind of material it covers (e.g. Brand Identity, Pitch Deck, Source Code). Pick one from the suggestions or type your own.

Duration

A fixed number of years after the last disclosure, or indefinite. The field starts empty; you choose the term.

Jurisdiction (EU Member State)

The EU country whose law applies to the agreement.

Party 1: your company

Your registered address and registration number come from Settings; add the representative's name, their function and where the agreement is made.

Penalty ClauseOptional

If desired, a fixed amount of liquidated damages per breach.

Once all fields are filled, click Save template. Your first template is starred as the default.

Choose how much control each link gets.

Most work just needs a clean link. For the pieces that shouldn't travel, turn up the control, link by link.

    Confidential (Sign / Sign+)

    • They accept your NDA before anything loads, as a simple electronic signature (Sign plans)
    • You both receive the signed agreement as a PDF
    • An evidence package for every acceptance (Sign plans)

Nothing can un-see what someone has already viewed, and a linked Figma or Drive page follows its own sharing settings once opened. That's why sensitive work is best uploaded.

3. Creating a Link

Click the blue New link button on your dashboard (or press Command+K).

MonUpload the PDF. Choose File, drop in your proposal, and give it a name and a short note for your client. It is encrypted in your browser before it leaves.

Paste a link to your work, or upload a file.

Name

Your recipient sees this name before they open the link, so make it something you're happy for them to read (e.g., "Brand concepts for Acme").

Link Settings

Agreement

No agreement (the default), or one of your own NDA templates (Sign plan and up, uploaded files only).

Available For

How long the link can be opened (e.g., 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or no end date).

Allow Download

Toggle this on if you want the recipient to be able to save the raw file to their device.

Only These Emails Can Open It

Enter the exact email addresses allowed to open the link (Share plan and up). Anyone else can ask you for access. Left blank, anyone with the link can open it after confirming their email.

Click Create link. Your file or link is encrypted in your browser, and the link is ready to copy and share.

4. The Recipient Experience

You can send the generated link via any method (Email, WhatsApp, direct message)—the platform you use to send the link does not impact its security.

Who Shared What

They see your company name and the name of the link, plus a short note asking them to keep it confidential or, if you added one, your agreement.

Their Email

They enter their email address and accept the privacy policy.

Note: If you limited the link to specific emails and theirs isn't one of them, they can ask you for access.

If you added an agreement, they tick a box to accept it.

A full NDA template also asks for their company name, address, registration number and signing location.

5. Seeing Who Opened It

The first time each person opens a link, it is recorded. On a paid plan you also get an email. If the link has an agreement, you both receive the signed agreement as a PDF, with a timestamp and a transaction hash.

Your dashboard lists your links with their status (e.g., "Live") and how many people opened each. Click a link to see more:

TueAnna opens it. The count goes up once she confirms her email, so you know it arrived, and you get an email the moment it happens.

Activity

The Activity tab shows each person's first open as a hash-linked record: the verified email, the approximate location from the IP address, the browser type, and the exact time. Beneath it you see how often they opened the link in the last 90 days and when they last did; those counts are not part of the record.
